A GIFT OF THE HEAVEN

Geumsan is the origin of Goryeo panax ginseng with a 1,500 year history. Over 3,000 mountains, clean water from the uppermost stream of the Geumgang River, fertile rich in germanium, and the mountainous topography provides the optimal environment for growing ginseng, thus making it possible to grow ginseng of the highest quality.

A LAND OF THE OLD BAEKJE KINGDON! A VALUE OF A MILLENNIUM BLESSED WITH THE GIFT OF NATURE

Geumsan has optimal land and weather conditions for the culturing of ginseng. Archives show that Korean ginseng was by China from over 1,500 years ago.

THE LEGACY OF BAEKEJE GINSENG

Geumsan is blessed with natural advantages including soils and weather, in favor of ginseng. Historical records address that Korean ginseng was valued in China from 1,500 years ago.

This is backed up by books, such as “Famous Doctors’ Accounts authored by Do Hong Gyung in the Yang Dynasty and A New Collection of Farming & Harvest Guides, which reads, “Baekje’s ginseng has a slim shape in white color and firm flesh, while Goryeo’s ginseng has a fragile flesh in a larger size, inferior to the former… Baekje’s ginseng is of a solid, round shape in white Goryeo’s counterpart is light purple colored, weak and Silla’s product is yellowish and slightly flavorsome.

It is evident that ginseng of Baekje’s origin is accredited to have the best quality. It is probably not a coincidence that Geumsan, in which was the territory of the Baekje Kingdom, has been regarded as the most famous area that produces Goryeo ginseng.

A COLLABORATION OF HEAVEN

Historically, ginseng is titled a medicinal plant of mystery, which dates back to 1,500 years ago in Geumsan. A poor, retired Korean named Scholar Kang prayed desperately and was blessed with the Geumsan ginseng. However, the gods gave him not just a medicinal herb, but enlightenment. As a result, he obtained the root of mystery and cured his sick mother with it. Further, he started to farm the crop, helping a multitude of people suffering from innesses.

His benevolent act came from his warmhearted love and noble spirit. As such, Geumsan ginseng was born from a collaboration of the heavenly revelation, the earthen energy and human perspiration. Hence, the land of Geumsan was called a spring of strong, unyielding life, for both human and animal, fighting against diseases and misfortune.
